Multiple journal papers published under a <a href=\"https:\/\/nesptropical.edu.au\/index.php\/round-2-projects\/project-2-1-6\/\">NESP TWQ Hub Project<\/a> led by Dr Sven Uthicke at the Australian Institute of Marine Science have been used by the Queensland Department of the Environment and Science\u2019s Office of the Great Barrier Reef (OGBR)\u2019s <a title=\"https:\/\/www.reefplan.qld.gov.au\/about\/reef-science\/scientific-consensus-statement\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reefplan.qld.gov.au\/about\/reef-science\/scientific-consensus-statement\/\">2017 Scientific Consensus Statement<\/a>, which provides the foundational scientific understanding of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gbrmpa.gov.au\/our-work\/reef-strategies\/reef-2050\">Reef 2050 Plan.<\/a> <span lang=\"EN-US\">OGBR Senior Scientist Dr Rachel Smith said that the project\u2019s outputs were helping address a high priority knowledge need on \u2018combined impact of pressures on the resilience of Reef and coastal ecosystems\u2019 identified in the Reef 2050 Water Quality Research, Development and Innovation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reefplan.qld.gov.au\/implementation\/assets\/ogbr-reef-2050-strategy.pdf\">Strategy<\/a>. \u201cWe also anticipate that the outputs from this NESP project will be used in the future to guide our assessments of risk from poor water quality and aid management prioritization,\u201d she said.
